Officers have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward <\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a police vehicle on an emergency call. <\/p>\n

The man in his 60s suffered a serious head injury when he was hit by the vehicle on B4113 Coventry Road in Nuneaton at about 20:45 BST on Friday, Warwickshire Police said. <\/p>\n

“Despite the best efforts of paramedics from the ambulance service, he sadly died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed,” the force added. <\/p>\n

Neither of the police officers were hurt. Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, which happened between the junction of Gipsy Lane and the Griff Roundabout.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Officers have also appealed for dashcam footage or information which may help the investigation. <\/p>\n

The force said the incident had been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts remain with the man\u2019s family and friends at this time,” a police spokesperson said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

An IOPC spokesperson said: “After we were notified by the force, we sent our investigators to the scene and to the police post-incident procedure to begin gathering information and initial accounts from the officers involved.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
