A number of people have been arrested and a road has been closed in East Lothian following reports of a suspected abduction.
A section of the A198, which runs through the village of Longniddry, has been shut and a diversion is in place.
Police Scotland said the operation was in connection with reports of an abduction received on Thursday but gave no further details.
One report on social media said armed officers had been seen removing someone from a car.
Lothian Buses posted that some services were unable to serve the village and its routes had been diverted due to the road closure.
