Monday morning commuters faced a miserable start to the working week after a crash caused long motorway tailbacks.
National Highways said three out of four lanes on the northbound M6 were closed between 31 and 31A, near Preston in Lancashire.
The agency said on X that its officers were at the scene of the collision, which happened shortly after 07:00 GMT.
